What to include in your first enquiry

The most useful first message explains what you are packing, the format you are considering and the conditions the finished package needs to meet. If a detail is not final, label it as an estimate.

What to include in your first enquiry:
• The product and its intended use.
• The packaging format, opening method and any insert or fit requirement.
• Approximate dimensions, or a reference package if the dimensions are not fixed.
• Material, printing and finish preferences, including any surface or colour reference.
• An expected quantity range and delivery destination.
• Your target date and whether a physical sample is part of the review.
• Artwork, dielines or reference images only when you are authorised to share them.

Questions to settle before a quote:
Separate fixed requirements from open decisions. Note which of these are already known:
• Does the package need to protect the product during a particular handling or distribution condition?
• Are the structure, dimensions, material and finish fixed, or are alternatives acceptable?
• Will colour be judged from a screen, a physical reference or an identified colour standard?
• Is the quantity a single run, a range or a forecast that may change?
• Which destination and packing details should be considered when the project is reviewed?

What a project brief can clarify:
A clear brief gives the project team a basis for discussing structure, fit and opening method; material and surface-finish options; artwork, printing and colour requirements; packing, handling and destination conditions; and the questions that still need a project-specific answer.

Price, material availability, sample method, testing, quantity and delivery terms are project-specific. Treat them as confirmed only when the written project response states them for the relevant brief.

Before you send files:
Share only files and information that you are authorised to share. Remove unrelated personal, financial or sensitive information from a brief. Do not send payment-card data, passwords or identity documents through a packaging enquiry. If a file contains a confidential assumption, label it clearly so the project discussion starts with the right context.

Contact details:
Use the current address, telephone and email details shown on this page. If you are unsure whether a requirement is final, say so in the enquiry rather than filling the gap with an assumption.
